Covid Safety at MESS

If you are currently required to isolate due to testing positive for Covid-19 or due to being a close or workplace contact of a positive case, please follow DHHS advice and do not visit the Studio during your isolation period.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

To provide a safe space for our members, staff and visitors, MESS is adhering to COVID-Safe regulations as outlined by the Victorian State government.  As regulations evolve, these guidelines will be updated accordingly. Here are just some of the guidelines we are currently working to:

  • As of 11:59 pm Friday, April 22nd 2021, there is no longer a requirement to provide proof of vaccination to enter the MESS Studio.

  • As of 11:59 pm Friday, April 22nd 2021, bookings and visitors are no longer required to check-in via the Services Victoria QR code upon entry to the Studio.

  • All MESS staff members are fully vaccinated.

  • From July 2022, DHHS advice states that face masks are “strongly recommended” to be worn in indoor settings. Patrons are welcome to wear a mask if they choose and we have single-use disposable masks readily available if you require them.  (As of February 2022, it is no longer a requirement to wear a mask inside of the Studio).

  • All people entering the Studio must wash their hands with soap and water before using any instruments.

  • There are a number of hand sanitizer stations set up across the Studio.

  • Shared surfaces are cleaned at regular intervals during each day. There are disposable gloves and masks available if needed – these can be disposed upon leaving the studio.

Please do not visit the Studio if you have any of these symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Respiratory symptoms

    • coughing

    • sore throat

    • shortness of breath.

Other symptoms can include runny nose, headache, muscle or joint pains, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of sense of smell, altered sense of taste, loss of appetite and fatigue.

If you have any of these symptoms, however mild, you should seek advice and get tested.

To get further advice, call the 24-hour coronavirus hotline 1800 675 398 or your general practitioner. For more information, visit the DHHS website. If you have any questions for MESS regarding our COVID safety measures, please get in touch.
