Frequently Asked Questions
What is the process for taking out a MESS Institutional Membership?
- Get in contact with MESS to enquire so we can answer any questions and help you determine which package will work best for your needs. We can also schedule a date and time to host your Introductory Workshop.
- MESS will provide you with a written quote for a purchase order to be raised, or we can invoice you directly for payment. If your payment system requires us to register, please let us know the details for this process.
- MESS will send you an information package, including material you can distribute or display around your institution and details on how people inside your organisation can activate their memberships.
How do people activate their institutional membership?
- Once your membership is confirmed, MESS will provide you a link to distribute to your cohort. People in your organisation can then sign up for a MESS account under the institutional membership. They can sign up with an email identifying them as part of your organisation (e.g. your domain name), or you can provide a list of eligible people for us to cross-check.
- Once registered, we approve their membership, giving them access to the sessions that have been pre-purchased.
- We can track how many sessions have been used and how many are remaining. You can contact us at any stage for a report. When you have ten sessions left, we’ll email you to let you know.
How do institutional members book sessions?
Folks follow the same booking process as regular members. Follow the booking information found here.
What is the minimum number of people needed to take out an Institutional Membership?
In general, a minimum of 8 people is needed. If you have less than this and are still interested in a MESS Institutional Membership – drop us a line.
What if we have more than 25 people?
You would then need to purchase additional Institutional Memberships for each group of 25 people from your institution. However, please contact us for groups of around 30 people, and we can see what we can do for you.
What are the payment terms for an Institutional Membership?
All payments must be made up-front and in full.
Why are institutional memberships only 6-months?
This is mainly to align with educational institutions’ semesters. Please contact us if you would like to discuss an annual Institutional Membership.
Is there an option without the Introductory Workshop?
This is possible if your cohort remains the same between memberships. Please get in touch and let us know if this interests you.
What if we want more specific or specialised education catering to our institution's needs?
We can provide your group with any specialised or focused learning and teaching you require. You can get in touch with us to discuss your requirements and budget.
How do we know how many sessions are left in our Session Pool?
Contact us at any stage to know how many sessions have been used. Once your Session Pool drops to 10 sessions, we will let you know with the option to add more sessions to your pool if you would like.
What happens if we run out of sessions?
You can purchase more sessions for your pool. You can contact us and tell us how many extra sessions you need. Also, we will let you know when you have 10 sessions remaining.
What happens if we haven’t used up all the sessions in our pool at the end of the membership?
