Serge USA Modular Synthesiser

Known as ‘the people’s synthesiser’, the development of Serge was initially part of an electronics workshop run by Tcherepnin for the music school at Cal Arts in 1972, designed to be flexible and low-cost. A big plus with the Serge Modular Music System has always been its use of banana jacks and keeping both audio and control voltages at the same level, making it possible to interchange the different signals seamlessly. A slew generator can be both an LFO, a low pass filter and an oscillator and more thanks to this. This rare Serge Paperface system was originally bought by LaTrobe University and existed in their music department until it was closed c.2000. It was specified by composer and artist Warren Burt and has since been restored to near original condition by renowned Serge authority Ken Stone.
