The Mego Corp Muson synth-sequencer for kids went to market in 1978. With a simple plug and play configurable sequencer (each colour representing a pitch) it is endlessly fun to play. The model displayed here belonged to Warren Burt and was used alongside another Muson in his duo with Ron Nagorcka called Plastic Playpus.ย The duo featured regularly at the Clifton Hill Community Centre from 1978ย to the early 1980’s.
Fun fact, it is rumoured, and I stress RUMOURED, that the legendary modular synth pioneer Serge Tcherepnin may have been responsible for the design of this toy. He denies it but other sources say he was behind it….another synth mystery!
This instrument is currently on loan outside of the MESS Studio.
It will be unavailable for booking during this time, but weโll update its availability as soon as it is back.
