This machine represents the brain of Cor Fuhler (1964 – 2020) an enigmatic Dutch/Australian composer. Cor’s work spanned all forms from classical, through jazz and all the way to the outer reaches of experimental electronic music. Cor designed the Niglo using predominantly AS (Analog Systems) modules. The wooden insets represent ‘hardwiring’ of those inputs and outputs at the back end. Always seeking novel ways to perform electronic sound musically, Cor also invented a series of external controllers for his Synthi AKS that accessed the modules via the ‘presto-patch’ preset bay that appeared in later models of AKS.
