Optronics circa 1969 - 75 Australia Controller, Synthesiser

These three boxes were designed and built by pioneering Australian electronics engineer Graham Thirkell. An exceptional electrical engineer and acoustician Graham founded the company Optronics (“Optro”) and designed state of the art mixing consoles, recording and synchronisation devices that found their way into a multitude of early recording studios and radio stations across Australia. Featured here are a single sweeping oscillator and joystick controller custom built for Keith Humble and one of the original Optronics mixing consoles designed for the tape music labs at LaTrobe University.
