Speed Date A Synth

Saturday 20th May, 10am – 11.30am

Attention hopeless romantics, lonely hearts, and lovers of electronic sound! 🌹

At each Speed Date a Synth session, we round up a different curated selection of synths for participants to spend the morning getting to know the MESS Collection in a fun small-group setting.

We set up eight stations, each with a different instrument, you’ll have the opportunity to play each one, before moving to the next. Open to anyone who has some experience using synths and is comfortable with subtractive synthesis, this is a fun way to sample multiple instrumentals in one session, and come and see what MESS is all about. And you never know… maybe you’ll find your perfect match.

Headphones supplied, you just need to bring yourself.

Note: Synth Speed Dating is not *actual* speed dating, it’s a chance to come and try a number of different machines that you may not have used before 💕

Youth Workshops

Saturday 20th May, 12pm – 1pm + 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Experience the magic of electronic sound creation in this fun hands-on workshop presented by MESS.

Jump into the world of electronic sound in hands-on workshops with MESS (Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio).

In this session, you will use a selection of electronic instruments from the MESS Collection to experiment with creating different sounds and exploring the basics of synthesis. MESS artists will be on hand to support creativity and collaboration.

This workshop is open to people aged 12-25, of all skill levels. No prior experience is necessary.

Note: Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
