Description
A rack mounted device heavily based on Yamaha’s 1977 CS80 synth, inspired by cinematic sounds of the late 70s and early 80s (think Vangelis, a huge user of the original CS80, hence the name ‘Deckards Dream’). CS80s components are largely copied in miniature. Where the CS80 had ‘Synth I’ and ‘Synth II’, Deckards Dream has ‘Layer I’ and ‘Layer II’. Like the CS80, the cut/off frequency envelope control has five parameters – Initial Level (IL), the Attack Level (AL), the Attack Time (A), the Decay Time (D), and the Release Time (R). Deckards Dream also recreates the famous CS80 polyphonic aftertouch using its Brilliance controls. Deckard’s Dream Expander complements Deckard’s Dream adding an envelope controllable Ring Modulator, Chorus, Tremolo, Delay, and Reverb effects. It also works as a standalone audio effects device. Its rear panel offers two audio inputs and left/mix/right audio outputs, MIDI in/out/thru, and two Expander connections.
