We are thrilled to announce the return of the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra for Now or Never!
In its second-ever staging, the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra, under the guidance of the Melbourne/Narrm composer collective STATHIS//DAVEY//KIM (@stathisdaveykim), will combine historic machines from the MESS collection with the grand organ. Witness this live performance as 12 exceptional artists collaborate, activating iconic synthesisers from the annals of electronic music history.
Following this, a stirring performance by Stockholm-based American organist Kali Malone, who will impart compositions from her critically acclaimed album ‘The Sacrificial Code’.
This major work will guide audience members through a trance-like state, becoming vulnerable receptors for every slight movement, where each shift in sound is magnified through stillness.
This performance includes additional accompaniment by Stephen O’Malley on several four-handed organ pieces.
The MESS Synthesiser Orchestra led by STATHIS//DAVEY//KIM is co-presented by City of Melbourne and MESS for Now or Never.
